Spectators: 158 (Terracing: 119, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jorge Vicente Soler got the match started through his kick off. Manuel Chavez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Panțuru in the 4th minute of play. David Estrada hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Manafu in the 7th minute of play forced VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Manuel Chavez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Lucian Panțuru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Chavez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 14th minute, Lucian Panțuru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Vicente Solers short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Emil Şandru to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Manuel Chavez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Manafu, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd match minute, VILLANUEVA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdul Mac Lean to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Eric Vivero in the 26th minute really tested Emil Şandru's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in VILLANUEVA FC's zone, Lucian Panțuru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Chavez came out of the goal and Lucian Panțuru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 minutes of play, Progresul Pitesti's Horaţiu Manafu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Chavez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Manuel Chavez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horaţiu Manafu's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 36th match minute, VILLANUEVA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ireno Sudi to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Chavez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Caranică in the 42nd minute of play. VILLANUEVA FC's Manolo Blanco was substituted for David Estrada. When Ireno Sudi fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VILLANUEVA FC's protests and gave Ireno Sudi a yellow card for diving instead. Ireno Sudi hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The wind increased when Lucian Panțuru made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Luis Javier Valdovinos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VILLANUEVA FC and the Progresul Pitesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58thth minute of the game Jorge Vicente Soler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Progresul Pitesti's Emil Şandru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, VILLANUEVA FC's Abdul Mac Lean got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in VILLANUEVA FC's zone, Sabin Vulpăşin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Chavez came out of the goal and Sabin Vulpăşin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruperto Garbiso hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Manuel Chavez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Manafu in the 69th minute of the match. VILLANUEVA FC's Jerardo Dagnino was substituted for Abdul Mac Lean. In the 80th minute Jorge Vicente Soler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Şandru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rdth minute of the game Jorge Vicente Soler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Progresul Pitesti's Emil Şandru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luis Javier Valdovinos kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Progresul Pitesti's Horaţiu Manafu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Progresul Pitesti's Nistor Ghelmegean got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the final whistle sounded Progresul Pitesti left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than VILLANUEVA FC.
