Marín Quiñones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Müfit Tolgahan in the 19th minute of play. Gabino Pizarro took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Şafak Semih. Şafak Semih dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiro Dentrup to strike the kick off in the second half. Şafak Semih took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Hugo Celis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierre Bonvallet kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Mehmet Osman Cerit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Samsunspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehmet Osman Cerit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
