After 23 minutes Australian Youth Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leon Mleczewski who took care of the corner kick. Burt Gruer hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Frenchville Sports Club's Edvaldo Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randolph Glover in the 29th minute of play. Australian Youth Academy's Tom Riddle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corey Alonso in the 31st minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Caniggia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Australian Youth Academy's Tom Riddle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Frenchville Sports Club's goalkeeper Edvaldo Gaspar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Randolph Glover made a precise shot to the right of Edvaldo Gaspar. Frenchville Sports Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Australian Youth Academy's Tom Riddle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. Frenchville Sports Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corey Alonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Quincy Slattery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edvaldo Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randolph Glover in the 92nd minute of play. Frenchville Sports Club's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Australian Youth Academy had won, even though Frenchville Sports Club had held more of the ball.
