An unexpectedly hard shot by Berke Rush in the 66th minute of play forced Rodborough's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Frenchville Sports Club's Edvaldo Gaspar got control of the ball when Pete Bunworth tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Rodborough's goal looked a bit too open when Berke Rush came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Frenchville Sports Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. A collision led to Rodborough getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Remington Batterham hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Frenchville Sports Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rodborough had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
