Australian Youth Academy's Cesar Cornelius quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ray Fortington, made in the 34th minute of the game. In the 37th minute, Ray Fortington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Randolph Glover in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlisle Schultz saved Cosmic Pigeons from getting behind. In the 40th minute Randolph Glover shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlisle Schultz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Randolph Glover took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlisle Schultz. Carlisle Schultz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Randolph Glover stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Cosmic Pigeons's goalkeeper Carlisle Schultz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Randolph Glover.
