After 47 played minutes, Stars's Claudinei Damião shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stars reached it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonathan Siong to strike the kick off in the second half. Adam Seng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Carrizo having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Siong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeo Carrizo was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Amadeo Carrizo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Siong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Siong who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Amadeo Carrizo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. AMED's Gage Tuan was substituted for Hidayat Leng. In the 72nd minute Jonathan Siong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Carrizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Carrizo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wen Ke Yan in the 73rd minute of play. When Jonathan Siong came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Stars fans jumped to their feet. AMED's Amadeo Carrizo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Chandran in the 81st minute of play. Felix Tioe kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Amadeo Carrizo was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Rudy Chandran capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rudy Chandran really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Stars's Muhammad Chan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Chandran in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Khai Chuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amadeo Carrizo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudy Chandran in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Stars eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
