Muhammad Chan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asiz Rajah in the 16th minute of play. Bryan Hui made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Jonathan Siong sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Oakham's Bryan Hui got control of the ball when Jonathan Siong tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stars were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Oakham's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claudinei Damião took the corner. Mikael Månsson made a great header on Stars's corner, it was just that Oakham's Bryan Hui managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oakham's goalkeeper Bryan Hui, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Oakham's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Siong came free, but Bryan Hui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wong Butcher in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Muhammad Chan saved Stars from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Rudy Hong in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Stars's Mikael Månsson. Jonathan Siong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 48th match minute, Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Siong to maneuver through the defense. The Stars players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Oakham were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Asiz Rajah was the one to do the kick off.
