He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 12 minutes into the match, Salah Al Homaithe notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Aguirre Verde. Aguirre Verde was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aguirre Verde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gibrel Taqi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Yousef Al Attar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SALT's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DUBAI Palm Jumeirah the free kick. After 20 played minutes SALT got a freekick which was hit by Yousef Al Attar. Adnan Al Motar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nelson Messias in the 29th minute. The corner ended in Nelson Messias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SALT's Adnan Al Motar did a great save. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after SALT's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nelson Messias took the corner. After taking down the ball on DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's corner Nelson Messias fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adnan Al Motar quite easily take care of the ball. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Matthijs van Persie managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Darweesh Al Ammar in the 43 minute of the game. Adnan Al Motar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Adnan Al Motar was a little too slow when Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

DUBAI Palm Jumeirah made a substitution. Aadil Al Sherazi replaced Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hani Al Hashash was the one to do the kick off. After 57 minutes of play, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Matthijs van Persie made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adnan Al Motar was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 61st minute of the match DUBAI Palm Jumeirah got a corner. SALT's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nelson Messias ran over to the corner to take the kick. Matthijs van Persie made a great header on DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's corner, it was just that SALT's Adnan Al Motar managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of SALT booed when DUBAI Palm Jumeirah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbyszko Rywin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aadil Al Sherazi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gibrel Taqi kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Aadil Al Sherazi might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adnan Al Motar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aadil Al Sherazi ran back to his position shaking his head. Adnan Al Motar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aadil Al Sherazi in the 70th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes DUBAI Palm Jumeirah got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Messias. With splendid footwork Hani Al Hashash arrived in front of goal to shoot 5-2 by the left pole in the game's 80th minute. Aadil Al Sherazi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matthijs van Persie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adnan Al Motar having to interfere. After 87 minutes, Hussain Shadad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SALT and the DUBAI Palm Jumeirah players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Hussain Shadad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Aadil Al Sherazi managed to get in a good position for a shot. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's supporters rose to their feet, but Aadil Al Sherazi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adnan Al Motar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aadil Al Sherazi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adnan Al Motar having to make a save. 96 minutes into the match, SALT's goal looked a bit too open when Aadil Al Sherazi came free, but Adnan Al Motar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th minute DUBAI Palm Jumeirah were awarded a corner. Nelson Messias went to the cornerflag to take it. Farooq Al Muwail thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Adnan Al Motar, a very annoying self made goal in the 98th minute which led to 6-2. There was no doubt that DUBAI Palm Jumeirah were the better team. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
