In the 4th minute, Makareus Poulakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lykaon Belesis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Koios Panayiotopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Koios Panayiotopoulos made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Michel Santos sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute, Michel Santos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The APOELHELLAS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Michel Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Koios Panayiotopoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Koios Panayiotopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lykaon Belesis, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michel Santos. OMONOIA's Koios Panayiotopoulos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save OMONOIA from getting a goal against them. Michel Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Koios Panayiotopoulos having to make a save. Michel Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Koios Panayiotopoulos made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faustino Marz during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of APOELHELLAS booed when OMONOIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Marz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Lykaon Belesis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Koios Panayiotopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, OMONOIA's Koios Panayiotopoulos got control of the ball when Michel Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Michel Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lykaon Belesis in the 39th minute of play forced OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes, Makareus Poulakis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the APOELHELLAS and the OMONOIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes APOELHELLAS got a freekick which was hit by Makareus Poulakis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lykaon Belesis in the 45th minute of play forced OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the OMONOIA defense, Lykaon Belesis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Koios Panayiotopoulos. The OMONOIA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Koios Panayiotopoulos should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ivón Echavarri made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omiros Nomikos in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Øverland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute of the match OMONOIA got a corner. APOELHELLAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eduardo Zanette ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to OMONOIA's Honorio Vergas getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Michel Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Koios Panayiotopoulos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65thth minute of the game Lykaon Belesis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but OMONOIA's Koios Panayiotopoulos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When APOELHELLAS's Lykaon Belesis in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye OMONOIA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 88th minute of the match, Seilenos Chrysanthopoulos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tobias Øverland was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind APOELHELLAS's goalkeeper Tobias Øverland, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Seilenos Chrysanthopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
