GOD OF WAR's Grzegorz Piechna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Xacintu in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute Konstantinos Kaberis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahia van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Facundo Bertoglio put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Yahia van der Saar. With a little luck, Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar got control of the ball when Vlassis Chelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Telis Lianos hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daníel Sundgren. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sheriff had won after a very even match.
