The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Johnnie Dobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Le Saux in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, FC Soldeu's Scott Le Saux dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. FC Soldeu's Scott Le Saux was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 13th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Scott Le Saux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When FC Soldeu's Scott Le Saux in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UE Sant Julià's goalie prevented a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Scott Le Saux to make the kick off. Johnnie Dobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Le Saux, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, David López hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute of the match Luizinho Maldini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnnie Dobson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Darren Blewitt came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the FC Soldeu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Blewitt couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Darren Blewitt notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of UE Sant Julià's Johnnie Dobson. Johnnie Dobson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. UE Sant Julià's Joe Argent was substituted for Bryan Hornsby. Johnnie Dobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Le Saux in the 66th minute of the match. FC Soldeu's Andy Renner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save FC Soldeu from getting a goal against them. 74 minutes into the game, Ed Potterton threw the ball into play from the sideline. UE Sant Julià's David López quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The supporters of FC Soldeu booed when UE Sant Julià was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Argent didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scott Le Saux in the 80th minute of play forced UE Sant Julià's goalkeeper Johnnie Dobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, UE Sant Julià's Juan Manuel Miranda got a free kick in the 80th minute. Andy Renner came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by UE Sant Julià's Perry Swanson. But to his dismay, Perry Swanson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Perry Swanson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the FC Soldeu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
