To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Carpathia's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Hendrickx came free, but Colin Colt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colin Colt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Hendrickx in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pankracy Gardocki to make the kick off. Colin Colt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico Hendrickx in the 53rd minute. Colin Colt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Hendrickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Frederico Hendrickx did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Colin Colt 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Shakhtar Donetsk booed when Carpathia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Purzycki didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Hendrickx got free with Colin Colt in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Shakhtar Donetsk played a much better game than Carpathia and deserved their victory. The Carpathia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
