Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jose-Enrique Reina to make the kick off. Gambica Roja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Balcells was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoro Balcells blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Herberto Riba having to make a save. In the 74th minute Valcho Nenchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herberto Riba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rikard Misje's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herberto Riba was relentless in the 85th minute of the game.
