Iosif Vulpe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Manuel Espagnet made a huge save. Natanael Fernandes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Manuel Espagnet made a huge save. Paris's Iosif Vulpe got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Natanael Fernandes could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Manuel Espagnet however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Lyon Olympique 69 getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Léon Valin hit a great ball. Manuel Espagnet was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Natanael Fernandes. Per-Erik Botvidsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toni Dean, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Natanael Fernandes got free with Manuel Espagnet in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iosif Vulpe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lyon Olympique 69's zone, Christos Skondras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Espagnet came out of the goal and Christos Skondras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Iosif Vulpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paris's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iosif Vulpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Paris's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
