In the 5thth minute of the game Domagoj Grković who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maksimir's Boleslaw Jaktorowo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Rio Mata in the 7th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Maksimir's Miodrag Rozga. Danijel Petrlin took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jânio Branco. Jânio Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Boleslaw Jaktorowo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tonko Urban in the 14th minute of the match. If Danijel Petrlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the match, Lipovljani's Domagoj Grković sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Boleslaw Jaktorowo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Lipovljani's goal looked a bit too open when Danijel Petrlin came free, but Jânio Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domagoj Grković got in the 25th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Boleslaw Jaktorowo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Danijel Petrlin took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jânio Branco. Danijel Petrlin might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jânio Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danijel Petrlin ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danijel Petrlin got free with Jânio Branco in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Danijel Petrlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Lipovljani's Jânio Branco got control of the ball when Danijel Petrlin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Boleslaw Jaktorowo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domagoj Grković in the 36th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Lipovljani's Jânio Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibor Ďumbier in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Adam Dodaj left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maksimir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Jânio Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danijel Petrlin in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Maksimir's goal looked a bit too open when Domagoj Grković came free, but Boleslaw Jaktorowo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boleslaw Jaktorowo stood somewhat misplaced when Tonko Urban came free in front of goal and shot 4-2 to the left of him in the 84 minute. Danijel Petrlin scored 5-2 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jânio Branco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rdth minute of the game Antonio Hrste who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lipovljani's Jânio Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jânio Branco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Danijel Petrlin's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Maksimir fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lipovljani had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
