If Jan-Åke Hedlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bai Jun Chong in the 21st minute of play forced Valencia CF Mindszent's goalkeeper Daniel Banaszak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnold Szuper didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan-Åke Hedlund went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Valencia CF Mindszent's Daniel Banaszak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lei Jian Xiong in the 28th minute of play. Arnold Szuper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Åke Hedlund's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Daniel Banaszak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 36th minute of play. Daniel Banaszak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bai Jun Chong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper got control of the ball when Jan-Åke Hedlund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Saltuk Peykan charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saltuk Peykan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tivadar Demeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silvestre Pacorro hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Bai Jun Chong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Banaszak having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Lázár Lévay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Banaszak made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Lei Jian Xiong sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tivadar Demeter got free with Daniel Banaszak in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tivadar Demeter in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Banaszak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valencia CF Mindszent's Levente Lendvay was substituted for Marcell Kiss. Valencia CF Mindszent's Dan Beard was substituted for Silvestre Pacorro. With his leg Daniel Banaszak managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saltuk Peykan in the 69th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Saltuk Peykan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnold Szuper. Szombathely Squirrels's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saltuk Peykan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jan-Åke Hedlund might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnold Szuper. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Åke Hedlund ran back to his position shaking his head. Valencia CF Mindszent's Bob Sinclair was substituted for Jan-Åke Hedlund. Valencia CF Mindszent's Daniel Banaszak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Valencia CF Mindszent from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Tarmo Elken. Ovidiu Adrian lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when Valencia CF Mindszent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidiu Adrian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Szombathely Squirrels's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Valencia CF Mindszent were victorious despite being under pressure from Szombathely Squirrels for much of the match.
