With a little luck, Decathlon Dudes's Tadej Pogačar got control of the ball when Henk van Zwieten tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Sons of Strategy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Westerink to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henk van Zwieten got free with Tadej Pogačar in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Sons of Strategy were awarded a corner. Wilco Heida went to the cornerflag to take it. Arnold Pool made a great header on Sons of Strategy's corner, it was just that Decathlon Dudes's Tadej Pogačar managed to reach the ball for a save. Henrik Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan de Boer having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrik Larsson in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan de Boer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper Tadej Pogačar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Henk van Zwieten 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Larsson in the 43rd minute of play forced Sons of Strategy's goalkeeper Jan de Boer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Sons of Strategy's Arnold Pool dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henrik Larsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Sons of Strategy's Jan de Boer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Idelberger in the 52nd minute of play. Tadej Pogačar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk van Zwieten, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute Henk van Zwieten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadej Pogačar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan de Boer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrik Larsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 67th minute, Henrik Larsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jan de Boer. Sons of Strategy's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
