Mike Zoetmulder made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Gerrit Hooiveld sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martien Sandstra. Pedrão Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 18 played minutes Kelmond S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Martien Sandstra. If Martien Sandstra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrão Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 23rd minute of the match. Kelmond S.C.'s Martien Sandstra got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Huub Gerrits scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrão Sarmento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martien Sandstra to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Kelmond S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Montrel Perpiñán came free, but Pedrão Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrão Sarmento came out of the goal and Huub Gerrits tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Kelmond S.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching De Pelgrims's performance. The match ended with a win for De Pelgrims.
