Pejman Zahedi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 4th minute. Åsnes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Åsnes getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jarl Rossebø hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Gunnar Dyrstad put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tom Røise. Juan Pablo Fretheim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tom Røise. Åsnes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If İskender Baki Sabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Truls Roll to maneuver through the defense. FK Dampsaga were furious when Preben Bjørkmo was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 34 minutes into the match, FK Dampsaga's goalkeeper Bakezda Mann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarl Rossebø. After having played for 41 minutes, İskender Baki Sabi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åsnes's supporters crossed their fingers, but İskender Baki Sabi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tom Røise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Dyrstad in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Pablo Fretheim in the 46th minute of play forced Åsnes's goalkeeper Tom Røise to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gunnar Dyrstad was the one to do the kick off. Tom Røise showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Dyrstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Jarl Rossebø kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If İskender Baki Sabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bakezda Mann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İskender Baki Sabi in the 54th minute of play. Åsnes's Pejman Zahedi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Claes Sundström, made in the 58th minute of the game. After some careless play in the FK Dampsaga defense, İskender Baki Sabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bakezda Mann. The FK Dampsaga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bakezda Mann should have stopped the shot. Åsnes's Tom Røise proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Åsnes from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Jarl Rossebø hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Åsnes's İskender Baki Sabi in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. İskender Baki Sabi might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bakezda Mann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. İskender Baki Sabi ran back to his position shaking his head. 98 minutes into the match, Al Wieczorek notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of FK Dampsaga's Bakezda Mann. Bakezda Mann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Åsnes's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
