Johan Johansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Malmö White Knights booed when Linköpings AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Abrahamsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match, Elvijs Presley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jimmy Olsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Albin Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Banks having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

Johnny Banks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johan Johansson in the 51st minute. Jimmy Olsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elvijs Presley went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvijs Presley in the 62nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johan Johansson got free with Johnny Banks in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Linköpings AIK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marbjörn Garpsson in the 64th minute. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willy Witarya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75thth minute of the game Elvijs Presley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvijs Presley in the 80th minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jimmy Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zoltán Újfalussy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Johnny Banks made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Zoltán Újfalussy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johnny Banks, 6-2. Elvijs Presley might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jimmy Olsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elvijs Presley ran back to his position shaking his head. Jimmy Olsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
