The audience was convinced that Ozan Heybetli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Lindström was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 17th minute Ozan Heybetli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Frinnaryd's Karl-Ove Rolfsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sixten Tunander. Sixten Tunander yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Frinnaryd's zone, Ozan Heybetli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Lindström came out of the goal and Ozan Heybetli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Ove Rolfsson was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Ozan Heybetli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ozan Heybetli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cezary Rzeszutek made in the 53rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Hans Söderqvist. Jan Lindström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ozan Heybetli in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute, Ozan Heybetli made a precise shot to the right of Jan Lindström. Frinnaryd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The throw-in from Brian Jansson in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Lenny Winnepennincks. If Lenny Winnepennincks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
