An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 4th minute of play forced Fulham Broadway FC's goalkeeper Börje Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Petter Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Blomqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Petter Skarkman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fulham Broadway FC's Börje Blomqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 minutes Fulham Broadway FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michael Näver who took care of the corner kick. After 20th play minutes Petter Skarkman shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Börje Blomqvist and just under the crossbar into goal. Fulham Broadway FC's Börje Blomqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Persson in the 29th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rudolf Nordstedt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ingemar Åberg was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. After 31 minutes Protegéerna's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Filip Tingelholm who took care of the corner kick. Börje Blomqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petter Skarkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Protegéerna were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Fulham Broadway FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Michael Näver took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ossi Eloranta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Börje Blomqvist quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Protegéerna getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Paolo-César Maldini hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petter Skarkman in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Börje Blomqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th match minute, Fulham Broadway FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Lustig to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Petter Skarkman made a kick off. Ingemar Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Unesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Fulham Broadway FC were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Protegéerna's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filip Tingelholm took the corner. After taking down the ball on Fulham Broadway FC's corner Filip Tingelholm fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ingemar Åberg quite easily take care of the ball. Börje Blomqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Persson in the 57th minute of play. Börje Blomqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Persson in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Protegéerna were awarded a corner. Michael Näver went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Protegéerna's Jan Persson getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Protegéerna's Christer Nyberg was substituted for Jan Persson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 64th minute of play forced Fulham Broadway FC's goalkeeper Börje Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Protegéerna made a substitution. Bo Låsberg replaced Fernando Arango. Aaron Lustig hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Aaron Lustig made in the 79th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Sven-Edvin Unesson however managed to control. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fulham Broadway FC's goalkeeper Börje Blomqvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Börje Blomqvist made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Christer Nyberg sent off a good shot on target. Börje Blomqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Skarkman's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After a rather tough play, Fulham Broadway FC's Aaron Lustig got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Protegéerna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Protegéerna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
