After a rather tough play, Protegéerna's Jonny Ånger got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petter Skarkman got free with Karl-Erik Norström in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Egídio Fernandez in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta. Karl-Erik Norström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petter Skarkman went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ulrik Söderlund came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Karl-Erik Norström could save by the left post. Ingemar Åberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 17th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petter Skarkman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Norström having to interfere. Egídio Fernandez made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Protegéerna's Paolo-César Maldini. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Norström in the 34th minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Ingemar Åberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Skarkman in the 38th minute of play. Ingemar Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Williams in the 39th minute of play. Egídio Fernandez made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Protegéerna's Ulrik Söderlund. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Petter Skarkman made a kick off. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petter Skarkman in the 54th minute of the match. Egídio Fernandez hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Petter Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 61st minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Petter Skarkman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Protegéerna's supporters rose to their feet, but Petter Skarkman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Erik Norström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Krister Uggstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petter Skarkman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl-Erik Norström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petter Skarkman went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Protegéerna's Bo Låsberg was substituted for Fernando Arango. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Hjalmar Hägert replaced Lu Rong Yi. Georg Norström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingemar Åberg having to interfere. Egídio Fernandez made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Skarkman in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Protegéerna getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jonny Ånger hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrik Söderlund in the 85th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petter Skarkman in the 90th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Skövde AIK defense, Petter Skarkman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Norström. The Skövde AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Erik Norström should have stopped the shot. Protegéerna's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
