But to his dismay, Ozan Heybetli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to FC Hammarby Sjöstad getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Sarracino De la Rosa hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petter Skarkman got free with Sixten Tunander in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Ozan Heybetli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ingemar Åberg was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Sixten Tunander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christer Nyberg in the 36th minute of play. Ozan Heybetli scored 0-3 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ingemar Åberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Protegéerna's Ingemar Åberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ozan Heybetli in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Protegéerna booed when FC Hammarby Sjöstad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Ozan Heybetli got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petter Skarkman in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixten Tunander saved FC Hammarby Sjöstad from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Hammarby Sjöstad eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
