Olov Kellbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Ove Rolfsson in the 4th minute of play. German Lop hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when German Lop got free with Jan Lindström in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kasper Gernberg lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ellen Bow Bojs fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! 22 minutes into the game, Frinnaryd's Egil Sjögren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Kellbom made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hans Smitt got free with Jan Lindström in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olov Kellbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egil Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Smitt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jan Lindström made a huge save. Kerim Kilic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Lindström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Lop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Smitt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Lindström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Ellen Bow Bojs got a corner. Frinnaryd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jagad Man ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ellen Bow Bojs's Dalmacio Pumarino to fire away a dangerous shot which Jan Lindström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 47 minutes, Karl-Ove Rolfsson made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ellen Bow Bojs's Olov Kellbom tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Frinnaryd were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karl-Ove Rolfsson to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ellen Bow Bojs's goalkeeper Olov Kellbom had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Ove Rolfsson. Olov Kellbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Ellen Bow Bojs's Olov Kellbom got control of the ball when Karl-Ove Rolfsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute Mats Hurtig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mats Hurtig came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ellen Bow Bojs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mats Hurtig couldn't finish the play. Ellen Bow Bojs's Eddie Eriksson was substituted for Börje Wennerström. Olov Kellbom made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Karl-Ove Rolfsson sent off a good shot on target. Frinnaryd's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hans Söderqvist in the 72nd minute. Frinnaryd's Hans Söderqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olov Kellbom in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 74 minutes into the match, Frinnaryd's Chet Baker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olov Kellbom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chet Baker came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olov Kellbom could save by the left post. In the 80th minute Egil Sjögren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Kellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ellen Bow Bojs's Olov Kellbom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Ellen Bow Bojs from getting a goal against them. Olov Kellbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egil Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Frinnaryd defense, German Lop kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Lindström. The Frinnaryd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Lindström should have stopped the shot.
