In the 11th match minute, FC Hammarby Sjöstad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Winnepennincks to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Erik Norström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ozan Heybetli's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Sixten Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Lenny Winnepennincks notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström. Karl-Erik Norström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl-Erik Norström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ozan Heybetli in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, Ozan Heybetli cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Karl-Erik Norström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 27th minute, Hjalmar Hägert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ozan Heybetli in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sarracino De la Rosa in the 40th minute. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ozan Heybetli in the 46th minute of play. Rolf Waller kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ozan Heybetli in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Erik Norström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ozan Heybetli, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Leon Ferfecki managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Egídio Fernandez in the 60 minute of the game. Skövde AIK were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after FC Hammarby Sjöstad's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrik Lönn took the corner. After taking down the ball on Skövde AIK's corner Knut Rudberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sixten Tunander quite easily take care of the ball. In the 71st minute Ozan Heybetli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Hammarby Sjöstad booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chen Ao Fan didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Sixten Tunander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 75th minute of play. Lenny Winnepennincks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Erik Norström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chen Ao Fan got free with Sixten Tunander in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kevin Keegan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sixten Tunander came out and tried to block the shot, but Kevin Keegan slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 95th minute. FC Hammarby Sjöstad were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Skövde AIK for a fine match.
