The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Paranaense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, FC LIVERPOOL's Frank Pearce got control of the ball when Kevin Hellkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC LIVERPOOL's Gong Yi Feng got a free kick in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Juventus Telford's goal looked a bit too open when Gazanfer Canıtez came free, but Luizinho Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Howard Layfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gong Yi Feng scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luizinho Paranaense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luizinho Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gong Yi Feng in the 26th minute of play. Luizinho Paranaense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gazanfer Canıtez's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Frank Pearce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Hellkvist in the 28th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Cälal Elxanov notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC LIVERPOOL's Frank Pearce. Frank Pearce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Didi Tondu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizinho Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gong Yi Feng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Paranaense having to interfere. Luizinho Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gazanfer Canıtez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gazanfer Canıtez in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizinho Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevin Hellkvist to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Cälal Elxanov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Pearce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55thth minute of the game Gong Yi Feng who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Juventus Telford's Luizinho Paranaense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Howard Layfield took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Luizinho Paranaense to make any attempt to save it. FC LIVERPOOL made a substitution. Romeo Callery replaced Richie Byfield. Frank Pearce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Hellkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kevin Hellkvist in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank Pearce saved FC LIVERPOOL from getting behind. Jim Lyons took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luizinho Paranaense. Luizinho Paranaense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC LIVERPOOL eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
