Æsir Ásgarðr's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gong Yuan Zheng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. After a rather tough play, Akranes's Szymon Milko got a free kick in the 40th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Kristján Ófeigsson heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 46 played minutes Akranes got a freekick which was hit by Glói Emilsson. After the first half Akranes were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Álfgeir Hannibalsson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 82nd minute Helgi Jónsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Hulki Okyanus could shoot a difficult shot in the 87th minute, which Eldór Hreiðarsson however easily saved by the left post. 91 minutes into the match, Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Eldór Hreiðarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glói Emilsson. When the match was over Akranes could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Æsir Ásgarðr throughout the match.
