Frederico Vilalobos made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Teodoro Freire sent off a good shot on target. Gervasio Duardo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Angelo Pessoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico Vilalobos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Bastos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Campelo's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A nice corner shot did that Manuel Rangel got away a dangerous shot. Despite this David Bastos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Campelo in the 14th minute of play forced AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, one of AM United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. David Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Carrasqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 19th minute, Cristiano Carrasqueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nascente do Leça fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Nascente do Leça getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Manuel Rangel hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Teodoro Freire kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frederico Vilalobos. That made the score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. AM United's Nikos Christou got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Bastos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Campelo's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. A hard shot 37 in the game by Teodoro Freire from a close distance when the talented Frederico Vilalobos managed to make a qualified save. Nascente do Leça's players were relieved. After some careless play in the AM United defense, Severiano Campelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Bastos. The AM United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Bastos should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Nascente do Leça getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Franciszek Serwach hit a great ball. Roberto Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severiano Campelo to make the kick off. David Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Campelo in the 54th minute of play. Nascente do Leça's Frederico Vilalobos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Freire in the 56th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Nascente do Leça's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Morais came free, but Frederico Vilalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 played minutes Nascente do Leça got a freekick which was hit by Bento Madeira. After 77 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Carvalhal. Jorge Morais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nascente do Leça supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nascente do Leça would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
