The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eder Lopes in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mao Zhen Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sabadim Harammes PRD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Azeredo in the 8th minute. A nice corner shot did that Joel Azeredo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mao Zhen Hong quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eder Lopes in the 10th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mao Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eder Lopes in the 14th minute of play. In the 14th minute Eder Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Westerstrand got free with Mauro Cunha in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Christian Westerstrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Cunha having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Monte Gordo's zone, Pes Torto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mao Zhen Hong came out of the goal and Pes Torto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mao Zhen Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eder Lopes in the 28th minute of the match. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pes Torto in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Adérito Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Monte Gordo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adérito Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Westerstrand might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauro Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Westerstrand ran back to his position shaking his head. A sloppy throw-in by Abel Castelo Branco in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Academia Monte Gordo's Daniel Almeida. In the 43rd minute, Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Almeida fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 60 played minutes Sabadim Harammes PRD got a freekick which was hit by Eder Lopes. A collision led to Sabadim Harammes PRD getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Eder Lopes hit a great ball. Fabrício Lustosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Eder Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mao Zhen Hong was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pes Torto in the 80th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
