In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's Christian Westerstrand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiburcio Liher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mao Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Ekström, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 47 minutes Academia Monte Gordo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brion Heyros who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Brion Heyros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mao Zhen Hong quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Zé Paulo Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mao Zhen Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Liher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Westerstrand, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute Academia Monte Gordo were awarded a corner. Jago Back went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Academia Monte Gordo. Mao Zhen Hong had in the 76thth minute some difficulties stopping Jimmy Ekström's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 77th match minute, Academia Monte Gordo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arana Ponta to maneuver through the defense. Fabrício Lustosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tiburcio Liher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Jimmy Ekström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
