In the 13th match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard de Lima to maneuver through the defense. After 15 minutes of play, ADM Taquaras's Oliver Bierhoff made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariusz Komornicki was left in no man's land by his defense there! CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Sebahattin Üsküplü quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Edgard de Lima, made in the 17th minute of the game. After 31 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Vitório Barbosa. ADM Taquaras's Áron Bódog was substituted for Wágner Leme. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Malcolm Westerberg in the 34th minute really tested Mariusz Komornicki's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Arnaldo Basajaun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Arnaldo Basajaun in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ADM Taquaras's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Basajaun in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremias Moreno saved ADM Taquaras from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Bierhoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. ADM Taquaras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Arnaldo Basajaun scored to the left of an out of position Jeremias Moreno, making the score, 1-1. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vitório Barbosa in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute Yu Quan Di shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariusz Komornicki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales De Mileto in the 66th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Arnaldo Basajaun in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Tadeu Carneiro was substituted for Evandro Senna. ADM Taquaras's Enio Aparecido was substituted for Oliver Bierhoff. In the 77th minute Enio Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariusz Komornicki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmyr Loyola got free with Jeremias Moreno in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. ADM Taquaras's Áron Bódog got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mariusz Komornicki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Jeremias Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acácio da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walmyr Loyola took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremias Moreno. Jeremias Moreno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
