The corner led Gracie Barra's Şamil Sağman to fire away a dangerous shot which Michel Alvarenga despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Augusto Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Michel Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Saldanha scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michel Alvarenga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Augusto Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. Falcão Cunha came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Al-Fajuth's Amadeu Furlan. But to his dismay, Amadeu Furlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 43 minutes into the match, Augusto Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michel Alvarenga. Al-Fajuth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rômulo Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gracie Barra's Augusto Saldanha got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Augusto Saldanha took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Michel Alvarenga to make any attempt to save it. After 65 played minutes Augusto Saldanha rounded Al-Fajuth's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-9. Gracie Barra's Nilton Botelho was substituted for Pedro Velloso. Gracie Barra's Snorri De Hond was substituted for Augusto Saldanha. Snorri De Hond's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michel Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Snorri De Hond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Al-Fajuth's goal looked a bit too open when Snorri De Hond came free, but Michel Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michel Alvarenga was a little too slow when Snorri De Hond got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-10. In the 75th minute, Gracie Barra's Snorri De Hond dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-11. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 1-12 when Snorri De Hond sped through Al-Fajuth's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Michel Alvarenga. 81 minutes into the match, Snorri De Hond notched a goal, 1-13, to the right of Al-Fajuth's Michel Alvarenga. Michel Alvarenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Snorri De Hond received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Michel Alvarenga came out and tried to block the shot, but Snorri De Hond slotted it home off the left post making it 1-14 in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Al-Fajuth's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Snorri De Hond fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Michel Alvarenga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilton Botelho's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Timeteo Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Snorri De Hond received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Michel Alvarenga came out and tried to block the shot, but Snorri De Hond slotted it home off the left post making it 1-15 in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute, Snorri De Hond made a precise shot to the right of Michel Alvarenga. Al-Fajuth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-16. A collision led to Al-Fajuth getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Sandro Maciel hit a great ball.
