The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Cañas got free with Nicodemo Recalde in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Algarrobo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Abdón Maeztu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Chilavert. Algarrobo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nicodemo Recalde came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Algarrobo's Jack Madison. But to his dismay, Jack Madison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5.
