Cristian Leizaur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avram Popoiu having to interfere. Avram Popoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Leizaur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Avram Popoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Leizaur in the 29th minute of the match. Roman Corte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christophe Troxler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montevideo City Torque's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guillem Bugedo was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. After 36 played minutes Montevideo City Torque got a freekick which was hit by Gu Sha Zhen. Cresconio Bobis got a throw-in 40 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Leizaur. In the 44th minute Roman Corte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christophe Troxler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roman Corte to make the kick off.
