Jagiellonia Denver's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xiao Yun Jun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Nicholas Kimble hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Barney Kohler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eric Gary made an important save on a dangerous shot by Qiao Qi Bo in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viorel Olaru in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hoyt Cormier saved Fenerbahçe S.K. from getting behind. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Hoyt Cormier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florence Diaz in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Austin Muller got a free kick in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Fremont. Hoyt Cormier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Majdoch, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Fremont got free with Eric Gary in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Fremont was the one to do the kick off. Hoyt Cormier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 蔡伟洲 in the 65th minute of the match.
