After 10 played minutes Atletico Aragua FC got a freekick which was hit by Zachary Flores. Obrero Barquisimeto's Richie Vasaburu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pencho Gramatikov, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Haitz Langarica made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Obrero Barquisimeto's Volker Ippig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Collins in the 78th minute of play. Atletico Aragua FC's Derwin Ungo was substituted for Severino Azpiroz. Volker Ippig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Collins in the 90th minute of the match. Volker Ippig made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Derwin Ungo sent off a good shot on target. Haitz Langarica didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gomesano Marichal went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Haitz Langarica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafino Pestaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Atletico Aragua FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Obrero Barquisimeto.
