Haitz Langarica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Koller in the 8th minute of play. Jan Koller took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haitz Langarica. Haitz Langarica dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Henrique Taranco hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Atletico Aragua FC defense, Jan Koller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haitz Langarica. The Atletico Aragua FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haitz Langarica should have stopped the shot. After 27 played minutes Deportivo Ortegano got a freekick which was hit by Paul Brouwer. Bahiano Caballeria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Azpiroz in the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Severino Azpiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bahiano Caballeria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Ortegano's Paul Brouwer got a free kick in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan Koller to make the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Haitz Langarica, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lauro Acebal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahiano Caballeria having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jan Koller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haitz Langarica was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Atletico Aragua FC's Lauro Acebal got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Atletico Aragua FC's Txomin Risel was substituted for Christiano Fano. In the 64th match minute, Atletico Aragua FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Txomin Risel to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Koller in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haitz Langarica prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 71 minutes into the game, Atletico Aragua FC's Gaspard Izquierdo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bahiano Caballeria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. The Atletico Aragua FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
