In the 5th minute, Joel Gargollo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bahiano Caballeria was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Deportivo Ortegano's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gargollo came free, but Bahiano Caballeria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Obrero Barquisimeto defense, Jan Koller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Volker Ippig. The Obrero Barquisimeto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Volker Ippig should have stopped the shot. In the 15th match minute, Obrero Barquisimeto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Gargollo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gargollo in the 28th minute of play forced Deportivo Ortegano's goalkeeper Bahiano Caballeria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Obrero Barquisimeto's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Koller came free, but Volker Ippig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Ortegano's Jan Koller managed to work through Obrero Barquisimeto's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jan Koller dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The crowd rose to their feet as Jan Koller kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Volker Ippig. That made the score 2-1 in the 41 minute of play. Volker Ippig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Koller, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gargollo in the 56th minute of play forced Deportivo Ortegano's goalkeeper Bahiano Caballeria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gargollo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bahiano Caballeria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Joel Gargollo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bahiano Caballeria made a huge save. With a little luck, Deportivo Ortegano's Bahiano Caballeria got control of the ball when Joel Gargollo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Gargollo got free with Bahiano Caballeria in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Gargollo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bahiano Caballeria having to interfere. Bahiano Caballeria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gargollo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Bahiano Caballeria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafino Pestaña in the 82nd minute of the match. Bahiano Caballeria made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Gomesano Marichal sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Obrero Barquisimeto's Franco Ternero got a free kick in the 85th minute. Deportivo Ortegano made a substitution. Rodrigo Mannara replaced Ian Vaz. A collision led to Obrero Barquisimeto getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Franco Ternero hit a great ball. Volker Ippig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victoro Argos, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Bahiano Caballeria came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Obrero Barquisimeto's Gomesano Marichal. But to his dismay, Gomesano Marichal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Obrero Barquisimeto were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
