After some careless play in the CORSARIO defense, Krišjānis Ābeļnieks kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mendoza Vall. The CORSARIO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mendoza Vall should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Barcelona de América's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Beto Márcico was slow to take the kick. During this time CORSARIO's players had a chance to rest. Krišjānis Ābeļnieks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
