A wasted opportunity for Lemel SV. 23 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Arnold Pool came free, but George Wiklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Dennis Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan de Boer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sons of Strategy getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Folker Diggele hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Yuri Roelofsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jan de Boer made a huge save. Lemel SV's Jelte Bleiswijk was substituted for Dennis Bergkamp. Arjen de Boer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. George Wiklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
