An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Asmussen in the 3rd minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilkka Markkula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constancio Jaque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zarpas Cea in the 9th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Zarpas Cea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tabalongo AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Vinkens in the 27th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Yan Zhi Chuan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keanu Reeves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Zarpas Cea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tabalongo AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Tabalongo AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Vinkens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Tabalongo AFC's Reynaldo Raitin got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Reynaldo Raitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st match minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Podador Raheiro to maneuver through the defense. After 63 minutes, Yan Zhi Chuan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportes Santa Cruz and the Tabalongo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yan Zhi Chuan kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula got control of the ball when Constancio Jaque tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ilkka Markkula made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Zarpas Cea sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute Max Vinkens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Markkula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Muno to maneuver through the defense. Tabalongo AFC's Filip Frankowski was substituted for Max Vinkens. The supporters of Tabalongo AFC booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Muno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Di Lin Xiong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Podador Raheiro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes Santa Cruz from getting a goal against them. Ilkka Markkula was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Filip Frankowski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Filip Frankowski really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Alvaro Muno got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tabalongo AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
