Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes Santa Cruz from getting a goal against them. Ilkka Markkula was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Alto Gøl capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alto Gøl really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eladio Ulloa in the 20th minute of play. Zhuo Jing Zheng charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zhuo Jing Zheng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Zhuo Jing Zheng got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ilkka Markkula made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Alto Gøl sent off a good shot on target. Ballet Azul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristián Fenieux in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute Alto Gøl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Markkula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gino Tonić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bairon Mateluna in the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eladio Ulloa in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilkka Markkula saved Club Deportes Santa Cruz from getting behind. Raimundo Tupper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alvaro Muno fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportes Santa Cruz's protests and gave Alvaro Muno a yellow card for diving instead. Alvaro Muno hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 44th match minute, Ballet Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pepe Rojas to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bairon Mateluna to strike the kick off in the second half. Eladio Ulloa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkka Markkula having to interfere. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballet Azul's Alto Gøl. But to his dismay, Alto Gøl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eladio Ulloa in the 67th minute of the match. Ilkka Markkula didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alto Gøl went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Ballet Azul made a substitution. Eulalio Callejas replaced Alto Gøl. 81 minutes into the game, Eulalio Callejas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Ilkka Markkula was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 84th minute, Eulalio Callejas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballet Azul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Adán Arredondo got a free kick in the 87th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Oğuzhan Öksak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Ilkka Markkula was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ballet Azul walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
