In the 7thth minute of the game Alejandro Martxelin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Bairon Mateluna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alejandro Martxelin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ilkka Markkula having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Capo de Provincia's Tao Han got a free kick in the 18th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Alvaro Muno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Muno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Alejandro Martxelin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ilkka Markkula was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bairon Mateluna got free with Héctor Barra in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Martxelin in the 25th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Alejandro Martxelin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Markkula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Jacinto Gebhard got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Martxelin came free, but Ilkka Markkula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Capo de Provincia's Alejandro Martxelin. But to his dismay, Alejandro Martxelin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Qiao Qi kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capo de Provincia's goalkeeper Héctor Barra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Juan Estevan Hamdorf charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Estevan Hamdorf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Juan Estevan Hamdorf got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 51st minute of the match César Pretot sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ilkka Markkula skillfully saved the ball. César Pretot took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilkka Markkula. Ilkka Markkula dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Podador Raheiro was substituted for Raimundo Tupper. Capo de Provincia's Luis Jiménez was substituted for Alejandro Martxelin. Capo de Provincia made a substitution. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Capo de Provincia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Qiao Qi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capo de Provincia the free kick. In the 94th minute of the match, David Villa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ilkka Markkula was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luis Jiménez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkka Markkula having to interfere. Capo de Provincia played a much better game than Club Deportes Santa Cruz and deserved their victory. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
