Phil Kreck hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Burrowye's goal looked a bit too open when Lawrance Sobczak came free, but Albert Simpson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Stewart Greenbank quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tom Arkinstall didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clark Yard went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Bernie Butterfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Arkinstall having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Rufus Pound shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Simpson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rufus Pound in the 39th minute of play forced Burrowye's goalkeeper Albert Simpson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 played minutes Coventry City FC got a freekick which was hit by Broderick Twite. 48 minutes into the match, Coventry City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clark Yard came free, but Tom Arkinstall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
