Spectators: 10883 (Terracing: 8163, Seating: 2503, VIP seats: 217) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Peter Guillou kicked off to start the match. Hugo Thorn kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Eddy Diederich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Guillou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Guillou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Diederich having to interfere. In the 12th minute Mark Klingelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddy Diederich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes LuxTor got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Thorn. After having played for 14 minutes, Mark Klingelmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Van Der Ley FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Klingelmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dagobert von Hompesch zu Bolheim hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Eddy Diederich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siegfried Brötzmann in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Peter Guillou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eddy Diederich. LuxTor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Guillou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Eddy Diederich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siegfried Brötzmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Siegfried Brötzmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eddy Diederich was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Siegfried Brötzmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Van Der Ley FC's Peter Guillou got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in LuxTor's zone, Peter Guillou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddy Diederich came out of the goal and Peter Guillou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Van Der Ley FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lutz Knubel was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Van Der Ley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Knubel came free, but Victor Schleck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eddy Diederich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siegfried Brötzmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Peter Guillou took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eddy Diederich. Eddy Diederich dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. LuxTor's Eddy Diederich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save LuxTor from getting a goal against them. Eddy Diederich made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Guillou in the 63rd minute. With his leg Eddy Diederich managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Van Der Ley FC's Siegfried Brötzmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 68th minute, Siegfried Brötzmann reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eddy Diederich. The goal made the score 0-5. 71 minutes into the match, LuxTor's goalkeeper Eddy Diederich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter Guillou. Luka Glück charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luka Glück the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 72 played minutes Van Der Ley FC got a freekick which was hit by Luka Glück. In the 77th minute Siegfried Brötzmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddy Diederich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siegfried Brötzmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Eddy Diederich made a huge save. Siegfried Brötzmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Eddy Diederich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Guillou's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Eddy Diederich skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Van Der Ley FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
