Spectators: 9696 (Terracing: 7000, Seating: 2481, VIP seats: 215) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Surujrattan Solomon kicked off to start the match. After 3 played minutes Defence Force got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Best. After a rather tough play, Punta Pigeon's Black Dookeran got a free kick in the 5th minute. Darryl Glen scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cornelius Ramkisson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Defence Force getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Lester Hamilton-Holder hit a great ball. Ernani Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Surujrattan Solomon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Ernani Bueno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cornelius Ramkisson. Ernani Bueno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Surujrattan Solomon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Punta Pigeon's Ernani Bueno in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Defence Force's goalie prevented a goal. After 29 minutes of play, Defence Force's Gillian Hamilton-Holder made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Khaleem Abdul-Hamid was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Punta Pigeon's Ernani Bueno in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Defence Force's goalie prevented a goal. Khaleem Abdul-Hamid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Surujrattan Solomon in the 37th minute of play. Cornelius Ramkisson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernani Bueno's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Tony Vidale kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Punta Pigeon's Ernani Bueno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelius Ramkisson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Darryl Glen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punta Pigeon's supporters rose to their feet, but Darryl Glen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelius Ramkisson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the game, Ernani Bueno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Cornelius Ramkisson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 61st minute, Ernani Bueno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Punta Pigeon's zone, Lester Hamilton-Holder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Khaleem Abdul-Hamid came out of the goal and Lester Hamilton-Holder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cornelius Ramkisson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernani Bueno's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. If Darryl Glen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Ernani Bueno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Punta Pigeon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Surujrattan Solomon's late challenge caught a Punta Pigeon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Surujrattan Solomon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Punta Pigeon booed when Defence Force was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Surujrattan Solomon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Defence Force's Cornelius Ramkisson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Bueno in the 81st minute of play. Gillian Hamilton-Holder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Khaleem Abdul-Hamid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernani Bueno in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornelius Ramkisson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cornelius Ramkisson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Ernani Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cornelius Ramkisson having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernani Bueno in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cornelius Ramkisson saved Defence Force from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Punta Pigeon fans cheered their team off the field, for while Defence Force had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
