After 3 minutes of play, Pogoń Siedlce's Hringur Hallbjörnsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Skafti Hermansson was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 5 played minutes Pogoń Siedlce got a freekick which was hit by Kolbeinn Björnsson. In the 6th minute Guðni Erlendsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Bjarkason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pogoń Siedlce's Jan Bjarkason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guðni Erlendsson in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Task Mývatni booed when Pogoń Siedlce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hringur Hallbjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Bjarkason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guðni Erlendsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Task Mývatni's goalkeeper Skafti Hermansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rúben Baugsson. In the last second Skafti Hermansson throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rúben Baugsson in the 19thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Jan Bjarkason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Bjarkason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guðni Erlendsson in the 24th minute of play. If Eymar Ernirsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Task Mývatni's zone, Eymar Ernirsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Skafti Hermansson came out of the goal and Eymar Ernirsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, Jason Indriðason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute Walter Snæbjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Bjarkason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 played minutes Task Mývatni got a freekick which was hit by Svafar Dagsson. Task Mývatni's Skafti Hermansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Task Mývatni from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute Walter Snæbjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Bjarkason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hringur Hallbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Eymar Ernirsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rúben Baugsson fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pogoń Siedlce's protests and gave Rúben Baugsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd minute, Guðni Erlendsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Bjarkason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. After 68 minutes Pogoń Siedlce's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jason Indriðason who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Task Mývatni's Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Task Mývatni's Skafti Hermansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eymar Ernirsson in the 71st minute of play. Jan Bjarkason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Jason Indriðason hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Skafti Hermansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eymar Ernirsson in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Már Gregorsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Bjarkason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guðni Erlendsson's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Jason Indriðason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Svali Kjaransson came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Pogoń Siedlce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svali Kjaransson couldn't finish the play. Guðni Erlendsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Pogoń Siedlce players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
