Skafti Hermansson had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Vigur Arnleifsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 8th minute, Vigur Arnleifsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Skafti Hermansson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Vignir Sveinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Valdór Pálsson charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdór Pálsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Barcelona's Kristvin Logason was substituted for Vigur Arnleifsson. In the 24th match minute, Task Mývatni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdór Pálsson to maneuver through the defense. Skafti Hermansson made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Kristvin Logason sent off a good shot on target. FC Barcelona's Vignir Sveinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 28th minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Vignir Sveinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Skafti Hermansson stood somewhat misplaced when Kristvin Logason came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 30 minute. Task Mývatni's Skafti Hermansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Task Mývatni from getting a goal against them. Task Mývatni's Walter Snæbjörnsson got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marijón Úlfarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vignir Sveinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Eðvald Bjarnason hit a great ball. Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The wind increased when Kristvin Logason made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when Task Mývatni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Auðbergur Gretarsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vignir Sveinsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After having played for 65 minutes, Marijón Úlfarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marijón Úlfarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Skafti Hermansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marijón Úlfarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Kristvin Logason had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Skafti Hermansson. Task Mývatni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristvin Logason was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. FC Barcelona's Marijón Úlfarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Skafti Hermansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristvin Logason in the 76th minute of play. Task Mývatni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marijón Úlfarsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Hjálmtýr Bergsson got a free kick in the 87th minute. After having played for 89 minutes, Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Task Mývatni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kristvin Logason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Skafti Hermansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Task Mývatni's Walter Snæbjörnsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vignir Sveinsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vignir Sveinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 96th minute of play.
