Pedro José Gamboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Fidel Benavides fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Football Fortress's protests and gave Fidel Benavides a yellow card for diving instead. 14 minutes into the match, Football Fortress's goalkeeper Eleuterio Eleysegui had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Byers. Orlando Byers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Eleysegui having to interfere. Crucero del Sur's José Marcelo Vildosola got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 minutes, Pedro José Gamboa made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Football Fortress's Eleuterio Eleysegui tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Pedro José Gamboa put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eleuterio Eleysegui. The supporters of Crucero del Sur booed when Football Fortress was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Helo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Alex Helo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Football Fortress's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Helo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Howard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Pedro José Gamboa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crucero del Sur fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. José Marcelo Vildosola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Eleysegui having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Marcelo Vildosola in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eleuterio Eleysegui saved Football Fortress from getting behind. Eleuterio Eleysegui didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 6-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Pierre Diaz de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When Crucero del Sur's Pedro José Gamboa in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Football Fortress's goalie prevented a goal. Football Fortress's Eleuterio Eleysegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Marcelo Vildosola in the 65th minute of play. Crucero del Sur's Víctor Javier Escobillana managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Filomeno Nuñez in the 70 minute of the game. Football Fortress's Eleuterio Eleysegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Marcelo Vildosola in the 73rd minute of play. After 83 played minutes Football Fortress got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Barainca. In the 84th minute of the match Orlando Byers shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eleuterio Eleysegui showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. José Marcelo Vildosola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eleuterio Eleysegui read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Football Fortress's Eleuterio Eleysegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Marcelo Vildosola in the 92nd minute of play. José Marcelo Vildosola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crucero del Sur's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
